Unlike most of Argentina’s Patagonia lodges, which are located on vast estancias surrounded by pampas, Rio Manso Lodge is surrounded by a two million-acre forested national park. The adjacent mountains and forest protect our fishing area from the famous Patagonian winds that blow across the plains to the south and east.

The temperate climate, abundance of food, and scarcity of fishing pressure have produced outstanding fishing in the Rio Manso’s waters. It is common to catch fish in the two- to four-pound range daily, and there is a reasonable chance you will catch a five- to 10-pound trout during a week of fishing. The lodge itself is very comfortable, with outstanding views from each of our nine rooms. Guests enjoy international-style meals enhanced by local dishes and superb Argentine wines.
