Description

The base for this adventure is award-winning Crystal Creek Lodge, Orvis Endorsed since 1991 and the standard of fine lodging & service in remote Alaska. Ideally located near King Salmon, Alaska, the Lodge is easily accessible and centrally located within THE greatest freshwater river & stream fishing region on earth. The Lodge is also close to some of the most remote and least visited National Parks, Wildlife Refuges, and National Monuments in North America.

Each day guests board a seaplane, wheeled bush plane, or boat with guides to canvas the local area and encounter the areas legendary monster rainbow trout, char, and grayling in remarkable numbers as well as the prolific wild salmon runs that support a rich local ecosystem. Nearby Katmai National Park supports the greatest, observable concentration of Brown Bears on earth as well as glaciers, astonishing mountains, and volcanic features including the fabled Valley of 10,000 Smokes.

How about a visit to Aniakchak National Monument, a 6-mile wide caldera and the least visited unit of the National Park Service? You can see Aniakchak on the way to view wild Pacific Walrus on the shores of the Bering Sea. The list of possible adventures is long. Each night you will return to the Lodge and be ensconced in warm hospitality at the rustic luxury lodge many describe as a livable museum. You will be served & dine on creative cuisine using foods sourced fresh within Alaska and the Pacific Northwest.
