Since 1992, Linehan Outfitting Company has been offering one of the most authentic wingshooting adventures in the country here in the remote Yaak Valley in the northwest corner of Montana. This area of the state is not typical big sky country. Instead, it’s logging country and wilderness. This is a place where the Pacific rainforest ecosystem crashes into the spine of the Rocky Mountains. Since there is so much high-quality habitat, grouse populations don’t necessarily fluctuate as much as they do in other areas around the country. Access to hunting areas is via logging roads, and then we use the quads on our legs, not the motorized type. What makes this hunt unique is the possibility of getting a native grouse hat trick. There aren’t many places in the country that present an opportunity like this. The goods are here. Now it’s up to you to earn the prize.
